Position Available - PHP Developer

Nucleus Medical Media Nucleus Medical Media is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. In business since 1996, we currently have over 30 employees, including medical illustrators, sales people, developers, and support staff. The company creates and licenses high-quality medical illustrations and animations for the legal, healthcare, and publishing markets.
We hire on a contract-to-hire basis. Initially, the successful candidate would be hired on a six-month contract as an onsite, full-time contractor, so that both Nucleus Medical Media and the candidate can assess the arrangement. At the end of the six months, the contract position would be converted to a full-time, salaried position at the discretion of Nucleus Medical Media and the employee.
We are always on the lookout for able, efficient, productive PHP developers with a demonstrable history of successful web application development. Consequently, we're interested in speaking with individuals who meet the following requirements to perform the following responsibilities:
REQUIREMENTS
- Two or more years of website development experience, with demonstrably solid PHP skills
- Two or more years experience creating database-driven sites that are maintainable and cleanly implemented
- Quick, efficient worker, able to work productively with limited oversight
- Ability to develop both PHP and HTML in a plain text editor, without WYSIWYG tools
- Confident, capable, and pleasant communicator
- Experience assessing a task, formulating an approach to completing the task, and implementing the solution
- Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely
- Willing to become a permanent, full-time, onsite employee during ordinary business hours
- Willing to work on an Apple workstation with Apple-compatible tools (TextWrangler, MacSFTP, Safari, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITES
- Development and extension of a set of existing web-based applications based on LAMP
- Development of new and existing static and database-driven web sites
- Other duties as assigned
